Following the format of the popular television show Iron Chef®, the Iron Painter Showdown pits contestants against one another in a competition requiring skill, speed, creativity, and grit. A surprise competitor will challenge the contestants, with a surprise ingredient and all will need to adapt quickly and expect the unexpected in order to take home the grand prize.
The surprise competitor this year was Privateer Press studio painter Meg Maples, and the model the contestants had to paint was the brand new Vladimir Tzepesci, Great Prince of Umbrey. That’s right; they had to paint a large-based cavalry model in an hour. On top of that, they were forced to endure grueling painting conditions such as painting with the brush in their mouths, painting while standing, or even finger painting.
In the end, young Magnus Cain emerged victorious and claimed the title of Iron Painter 2012!
